Grand Rapids Symphony Friends

This event is now over, but see below for more info - we will definitely be putting on another Bazaar soon! Stay tuned!

The Rumsey Street Bazaar was a market place extravaganza of unique wares and musical experiences.  It was designed to engage, connect with and promote interaction amongst the Grand Rapids community.  The venue was the ArtPrize SiTE:LAB space – specifically the auto body shop and the former St. Joseph the Worker Church.

There was a range of music and performance styles.  The market place included the sales of donated upscale resale items, as well as vintage materials and artist stalls.  There were family events such as build your own instruments, face painting, interactive "sonic music" experiences and the instrument petting zoo.  Admission to special evening entertainment ranged from $15 - $30.  There was no admission to the market or to the daytime music provided by Symphony members in the church building.

Funds were raised through sponsorships and underwriting, booth fees and commissions, sales of donated items, a silent auction, and ticketed evening events.  Our goal was to raise $20,000 for the education programs of the Grand Rapids Symphony!

Our theme: CLASSICS REMIXED!
