Membership and Benefits
Open to people of all ages who wish to support the Grand Rapids Symphony and have fun at the same time!
There are five Members' Meetings a year. Meetings include a concert preview by the Music Director, Associate Conductor or Guest Conductor, a performance by guest musicians, a business meeting and either lunch or light refreshments.
Friendships are fostered and members have an opportunity to get acquainted with Marcelo Lehninger, John Varineau, the Symphony President and Symphony staff, Grand Rapids Symphony musicians and guest artists!
Types of Membership
Active - Members pay $35 annually and agree to serve on at least one committee during the current year.
Sustaining - Members pay $100 annually and and do not have to serve on a committee, though they may do so if they choose.
Life - Members pay a one-time fee of $500, entitleing them to the benefits of the Women's Committee for life. They may remain active on a committee.
*All members are expected to support fundraising events each year by donating time or by purchasing merchandise or tickets to the events.*
Committee Options
Communications - Assist by making a limited number of phone calls or emails for special events, luncheons, meetings and important news notifications
Education - Assist with various education programs
Historian - Assist by photographing Women's Committee events
Hospitality - Assist with refreshments and greeting members and guests at luncheons and member meetings
Membership - Assist with new member coffees, membership drives and act as a mentor to aquaint new members with Women's Committee
Newsletter - Assist Chairperson with preparing and mailing newsletter
Special Events - Assist VP of Special Events with various projects and fundraising events
